Investigation following report of moisture ingress to silo
The Problem
Moisture was finding its way into the silo and conveying system causing blockages in the pneumatic conveying line.
The Solution
Our engineers visited site after being recommended by a silo cleaning company. The system was surveyed, and detailed investigation took place at points at which moisture could enter. The explosion panel was found to be missing its weather cover and have failed. Temporary weather proofing was put in place, and a replacement panel ordered and fitted.
The Outcome
Production maintained due to weatherproofing silo, this reduced the need for bagged flour.
The client benefitted from us managing the full works, and was able to restart production with a cleaned and certified system protecting their product security. Additional preventative works were highlighted to protect against unexpected failures.
