Repeating electrical faults under silo
The Problem
The client experienced a power surge across their site, which caused an inverter under the silo to fail. This was unsuccessfully replaced by the client. They needed the system parameters and an investigation into the failures.
The Solution
Our engineer attended site, and starting with the inverter checked through the system testing the equipment and supply working towards the connection to the grid. An issue with the three phase supply to the site was found, along with a failed component at the point of connection. The setting of inverter under the silo was changed to allow limited usage.
The Outcome
The client was able to restart production at a reduced speed, from the plant being idle. With the information provided, the client was able to repair the root issue, to enable full production to restart. The client’s records were updated with the correct parameters.
